Renowned Canadian theatre artist Lisa Horner is among the performers in Inspiring Broadway.

The best of Broadway songs will soon come alive at the Sanctuary Concert Hall in Georgetown.

Inspiring Broadway is set to hit the stage on June 11 at 7 p.m. in the concert space at St. John’s United Church.

From classics to contemporary selections, those who attend will hear all their favourite Broadway tunes, including Les Miserable, Come from Away, Guys and Dolls, Songs from a New World, and more.

The final show in the Inspiring Spaces concert series will feature headliner Lisa Horner, whose theatre credits include the hit musical Come from Away, CBC’s Kim’s Convenience, and the well-known IKEA commercial where she proclaims, “Start the car!”

She will be joined by three theatrical friends, including Cailin Stadnyk who, among many other credits in her 20-year stage and TV career, has played Fantine in Les Mis.

She’s an award-winning actress, singer, dancer, and motion capture performer currently touring with the North American tour of Come From Away. Prior to joining the tour, she was a company member of the Canadian cast of the show on the Mirvish stage in Toronto.

Taurian Teelucksingh, last seen on Georgetown stages in Globe production’s Anne of Green Gables back in 2017, and now a graduate of Sheridan College’s Music Theatre program, is currently performing on stage for his second season as a member of the company of the Shaw festival.

Rounding out the slate of performers for the highly-charged celebration of musical theatre is Jamie Lucinda Miu Lujan, a Toronto-based actor, costume designer, and performance artist. Lujan has most recently appeared in The Christmas Set-Up on Lifetime and Queens on CBC Gem.

As an added bonus, the St. John's Choir will be backing up our guests during their performance, bringing a special element to the evening.

Proceeds from Inspiring Broadway will be shared with the Townsend-Smith Foundation, which is raising funds to build a hospice for north Halton on the current site of Hillcrest United Church.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.showpass.com/inspiring-broadway/ or by contacting the church office at 905-877-2531.
