Drag Queen Storytime returning to Halton Hills

Free tickets to the show are available by calling or visiting the John Elliott Theatre box office

Things are about to get fabulous at the John Elliott Theatre.

Drag queens Fay Slift and Fluffy Soufflé are coming back to Halton Hills with some more storytime fun for the kids. The popular event, presented by the Halton Hills Public Library (HHPL), is set for July 9 at 10 a.m. at the theatre in Georgetown. Tickets are free and all ages are welcome.

“We are so pleased to offer this fun and educational storytime once again,” said HHPL Chief Librarian and CEO Melanie Southern. “An inclusive community is a strong one, and Pride doesn’t end with Pride Month. This storytime celebrates the love of reading, diversity, appreciation of others, and it’s also lots of fun.”

Fay and Fluffy have been doing Drag Queen Storytime since 2016. Their act consists of reading books and performing songs for the entertainment of kids. Their motto is “Reading is FUN-damental," and they create an inclusive environment for everyone. The experienced educators make a point of reading inclusive and culturally diverse books, and singing songs about kindness and acceptance.

When they appeared in-person in 2019, their show became the highest attended program in the HHPL's history.

Families who are interested can get free tickets by calling 905-877-3700 or visiting the John Elliott Theatre's box office at 9 Church St., Georgetown.
