Halton Hills Fanfest returning to Georgetown next month

Cosplay is making a comeback at the Halton Hills Public Library

Get those costumes ready.

The Halton Hills Fanfest - the only fandom event of its kind in town - is coming back to the Georgetown branch of the library.

The event is slated for April 29 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will include cosplay (dress up as your favourite character), virtual reality, superhero story time, Dungeons and Dragons, a variety of fandom workshops, cosplay parade and more.

"We are very excited to celebrate Halton Hills Fanfest 2023 with the community once again," said Emma Lupinacci, youth services librarian.

"Geek/fandom culture continues to grow in popularity and people love to share their passion for a certain movie, book series, character or video game with other people, either online or in person at various conventions. In the past, fans in the Halton Hills area would have to travel to other cities to share and celebrate these interests, but now they can celebrate in person, right here at home.”
