Over the next month, the Halton Hills Fire Department is going door-to-door in Georgetown and Acton, offering free Home Safe Home inspections.
From now until Oct. 28, the fire department will be visiting homes on Barber Drive, Treanor Crescent, Webster Way, Mull Gate and Donaghedy Drive in Georgetown and Churchill Road North, Pearl Court, Somerville Road and Tanners Drive in Acton.
The inspections are voluntary and if you choose to have one, fire department staff will check your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors to make sure they're working, positioned properly and there are an appropriate number for your home.
Fire department staff will also discuss any potential fire hazards and your family’s escape plan in the event of a fire.
