Georgetown High wins first junior boys soccer championship

Georgetown District High School clinched its first-ever junior boys soccer Tier 1 championship Monday in the Halton Secondary School Athletic Association’s league finals.

The match took place at Cityview Field in Burlington, where Georgetown came away with a 2-1 victory over White Oaks Secondary School.

The closely-contested game saw remarkable performances from Chris Garner-Wowk and Nicholas Taylor, both with one goal each, securing the win for Georgetown.

Under the guidance of coaches Jordan Dias and Steven Ramlal, and the leadership of captain Lucas Shannon, the team displayed exceptional teamwork, discipline, and determination throughout the playoffs, a news release said.

"The team’s undefeated record this year is a testament to the talent, dedication, and teamwork of the athletes, and it fuels anticipation for the continued success of Georgetown District High School’s soccer program in the future," added the release.
