We are saddened to announce the peaceful passing of Garnet in his 99th year at Georgetown Hospital, Georgetown. Devoted husband to Dorothy (Simmons), beloved father to Peggy Dudley (John), Cathy Morgan (Charlie), Doug (Lynda) and Julie Emmerson (Wade). Loving grandfather to Lindsay (Rob), Andrea (Sean-Patrick), Kristin, Jennifer, Matthew (Kara), William (Tiffany) and Rebecca and doting great-grandfather to Eli, Abby, Audrina, Brookelynn, JoJo and Jett.
After serving for two years with the Canadian Army during World War II, Garnet began his teaching career in a one room schoolhouse in Purpleville. He then taught Industrial Arts in the North York area for many years. Garnet spent many more happy years in retirement.
Cremation was held on Monday May 29th. A private family celebration of Garnet's life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the charity of your choice.
