UPDATE: Crash near Acton claims life of motorcycle driver

Police are seeking witnesses and dash camera footage as the investigation continues

A motorcycle driver has died following a collision with a car just outside Acton this afternoon. 

Police, fire and ambulance were dispatched to the call near the intersection of 25 Sideroad and Nassagaweya-Esquesing Townline around 3 p.m. today (June 2).

"Despite lifesaving efforts, the motorcycle driver was pronounced deceased at the scene," police said in a press release. "The driver of the automobile was transported to hospital for treatment of minor injuries." 

Police closed 25 Sideroad from Sixth Line to Dublin Line, and Nassagaweya-Esquesing Townline for approximately six hours to investigate the scene.

The cause of the incident is still under investigation.

Several witnesses remained at the collision scene; however, police would like to speak with anyone else who witnessed it or may have dash camera video in the area at the time of the collision.

The collision is the second serious one in less than a week near Acton involving a motorcycle.
