Georgetown man accused of threatening youths with baseball bat, knife

Suspect held for bail, charged with assault with a weapon, uttering threats

A 22-year-old is facing multiple weapons charges following an altercation in Georgetown.

Halton Police say around 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 16, five youths, all under the age of 18, met three suspects in the area of Eaton Street and Miller Drive. Police report that one of the suspects was carrying a baseball bat and a sheathed knife.

An altercation occurred, and Halton Police say the suspect assaulted the five youths.

According to police, no physical injuries were sustained.

A 22-year-old Georgetown resident was subsequently charged with five counts of assault with a weapon, five counts of uttering threats and one count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

The accused was held for bail.
