Morning crash north of Acton leaves one dead, three in hospital (UPDATED)

Wellington County OPP investigate a serious crash on Regional Road 25, just north of Acton Tuesday morning.

UPDATE: 3:15 p.m. OPP report the individual who died this morning was a 60-year-old Fergus resident. No name has been released.

A woman is dead and three other people are in hospital with critical but non life-threatening injuries following an early morning collision just north of Acton.

Around 7 a.m. Tuesday two vehicles collided at the intersection of Regional Road 25 and 32 Sideroad, roughly two kilometres north of Acton. Both vehicles ended up in the ditch on the southwest corner of the intersection and one of the vehicles ended up on its roof.

OPP on the scene said the driver of one of the vehicles is deceased. Two passengers in that vehicle were taken to Hamilton General Hospital.

The lone occupant of the second vehicle was taken to Georgetown Hospital.

The investigation by Wellington County OPP continues and the road remains closed.
