Traffic stop leads to impaired charges for Halton Hills resident

A 36-year-old Halton Hills resident is facing impaired charges following a recent traffic stop.

Halton Regional Police say they conducted the stop in the area of Eastern Avenue and Mill Street East in Acton on June 22.

As a result of an investigation, Guillermo Araya, 36, was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

Members of the public are reminded that driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol is a crime in progress and to call 9-1-1 immediately to report a suspected impaired driver.
