It took two Halton Police cruisers to safely stop a suspected impaired driver in Norval Saturday afternoon (Sept. 28).

Responding to a citizen complaint, police attempted to stop a vehicle in the area of Guelph and Mary streets around 1:40 p.m.

Police say the vehicle refused to stop and continued for another 300 metres before a second cruiser was used to make a tandem stop.

As a result of its investigation, Halton Police charged a 62-year-old Brampton man with operation while impaired, refusal to comply with demand and flight from peace officer.

Halton Regional Police no longer name individuals facing impaired charges.
