In 1993 Kelly Hrudey and L.A. Kings faced off against the Montreal Canadiens for the Stanley Cup. The Kings had a 1-0 series lead and were up in game two when Canadiens' coach Jacques Demers appealed to the referees that Marty McSorley was using an illegal stick. The call turned out being a momentum changer in the series.
