HaltonHillsToday received the following letter to the editor about the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation.

I love going to the Farmers' Market in Georgetown on Saturday morning.

This Saturday,  I was disappointed in the fact that the market had done nothing for the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation. I wore my orange shirt, but there were few people who had. It had been on the news, in the papers, etc. everyday for a while. I was sad because I thought they may have done something or the vendors done something. I am not going to get into politics, but it is not a day we should ignore.

The only bright spot was on Friday when I went down to Main Street and saw how many of the students from Georgetown High were wearing their orange shirts. One girl had even dyed her hair orange.

Maybe we could all learn a lesson from these young people.
