An Acton business is showing its Pride all year long.

Hop Society Brewing Company recently launched a new beer aptly named Inclusive traditional ale, with 25 cents per can sold going to Pflag Halton - a non-profit that offers peer-to-peer support for individuals and families around issues of sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression.

“We wanted to let people know we’re here to support whoever you are, and we’re here to be accepting all year ‘round, not just for one month,” said Hop Society co-founder Kris Brown. “If you come here, it’s a safe place.”

Representatives from Pflag came to help the Hop Society crew brew the first batch of Inclusive ale during Pride Month in June.

In addition to the new beer - which incorporates symbols representing Black Lives Matter, sign language and more in its can design - Brown said the brewery is also preparing an inclusivity statement.

“We’re trying to show that this is who we are as a group, and this is what we want to represent,” he noted. “We’re not doing this for lip service.”

Hop Society can be found locally at the Acton Farmers’ Market on Thursdays and Georgetown Farmers’ Market (July 9, and every second Saturday).
