Several local organizations have received a funding boost from the Community Foundation of Halton North (CFHN).
The Halton Hills Public Library, Acton Foodshare and Community Living North Halton are among the recipients of the foundation’s latest round of grants, which come from contributions made by legacy donors.
The grants were doled out at the CFHN’s recent 2022 Showcase event.
“The Community Foundation of Halton North’s vision is to grant back into the communities which make up north Halton and I am thrilled that the foundation is now in its eighth year of fulfilling its mission,” said CFHN chair Brad Clements.
Other recipients that benefit the local community include the United Way of Halton and Hamilton, the Canadian Caribbean Association of Halton, Halton Learning Foundation, Food for Life and Grandmother’s Voice.
CFHN is managed by a volunteer board of directors comprised of representatives from across the communities that make up north Halton.
Community foundations were first established in Canada over 100 years ago, with close to 200 existing today in cities, towns and rural areas across the country. These locally-run, public foundations play a key role in supporting community groups.
