The Acton Houseleague Hockey Association is ceasing operations.

The Acton Houseleague Hockey Association is shutting down.

The organization made the announcement on Facebook Thursday morning.

“After careful consideration and evaluation of the current circumstances, including parental involvement and declining participation rates, we have determined that it is no longer sustainable to continue operating the league,” the announcement said.

Those factors had threatened the organization, but it opened registration for the 2024/25 in March hoping that there would be renewed interest. When the response didn’t meet what was needed to continue, the organization made the tough decision to cease operations.

“This decision was not made lightly, as we understand the impact it will have on players, coaches, fans, and all those involved in the hockey community,” the announcement said.

“We want to express our gratitude for your dedication and support over the years.”
