Georgetown woman sustains serious injuries in Regional Road 25 crash (UPDATED)

The collision involving a tractor trailer shut the highway down for much of the evening

Halton Police are investigating a collision on Regional Road 25 that has left a Georgetown woman with serious injuries.

Local emergency services responded to the call on the highway south of 15 Sideroad shortly after 6 p.m. Wednesday evening.

"Initial investigation indicates that a southbound Ford Mustang driven by a 55-year-old female from Georgetown collided with a northbound tractor trailer driven by a 28-year-old male from London," police said in a press release.

"The driver of the truck was uninjured. The Mustang driver was taken to a local hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries."

Police closed the highway to traffic in both directions between 10 and 15 Sideroads until the early morning hours as the investigation continued.
