After winning six straight road games to close the regular season, the Georgetown Raiders will be looking to start a new streak to get back into their Ontario Junior Hockey League series against the Leamington Flyers.
The Raiders, trailing 2-0 in their best-of-seven series, are in Leamington for Game 3 of the series tonight (Mar. 14).
Despite a 34-save performance by Raider goalie Finn Marshall, the Flyers edged Georgetown 2-0 Saturday. Leamington took the lead midway through the second and clung to that before icing the victory with an empty-net goal in the final seconds.
In the series opener Friday, Georgetown took an early 2-1 lead on goals by Connor Thomson-Dick and Brandon Kakei, but Leamington answered back with four goals in the final five minutes of the period. The Flyers added one more in the third period for a 6-2 win.
The Raiders are back home for Game 4 of the series at Mold-Masters SportsPlex Saturday at 7 p.m.
