FRIDAY

Drop-in Family Story Time

April 19 at 10 a.m. at the Gellert Centre, Georgetown: Join the Halton Hills Public Library staff in exploring new themes each week through stories, rhymes, and songs. No registration is required.

SATURDAY

Community Clean up

All day April 20, throughout Halton Hills: Local residents and organizations are invited to form a clean up group or join a group to pick up trash along trails, parks, ravines and anywhere else that needs cleaning. The Town will pick up the trash bags when you’re finished. Participants are asked to register through the Town website to avoid duplication of efforts and arrange pick-up of free bags and gloves.

Drop-in Family Story Time

April 20 at 10 a.m. at the Halton Hills Public Library, Georgetown and Acton branches: Explore new themes each week through stories, rhymes, and songs. No registration is required.

Genealogy Circle

April 20 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Halton Hills Public Library, Georgetown branch: Whether you’re just starting your family history research or have already compiled an extensive family tree, come and join the library’s Genealogy Circle group, which meets monthly to learn about genealogy research and discuss findings.

Drop-in Art Activity

April 20 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Halton Hills Cultural Centre, Georgetown: A free family drop-in art activity will be held in the Helson Gallery with the theme of actions toward a healthy environment.

SUNDAY

Hungry Hollow Tree Planting

April 21, 9:30 a.m. to noon: Credit Valley Conservation is hosting a tree planting in Hungry Hollow. Meet at the Craig Crescent entrance. To register to participate, visit the CVC website.

Terra Cotta Earth Day Clean up

April 21 starting at 10 a.m. at the Terra Cotta Community Centre: In honour of Earth Day, the Terra Cotta community is organizing a clean up event. Participants will be provided with bags, gloves and other necessary equipment and assigned specific areas for cleanup efforts.

Afterwards, everyone will reconvene at the Terra Cotta Community Centre for a complimentary pancake breakfast.

Historic Walking Tour

April 21 at 2 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery, Acton: Join historian Scott Brooks for part two of his tour at the cemetery in Acton to hear more stories about the historical figures that rest there.

Admission is by donation, and everyone is welcome to attend. No registration required.

ALL WEEKEND

CD/DVD and Puzzle Sale

April 20 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and April 21 from noon to 4 p.m. at Georgetown Market Place: Support the North Halton Kitten Rescue while restocking your CD, DVD and puzzle collections at the sale running all weekend in the mall.

Over the River and Through the Woods

April 18-21 at the John Elliott Theatre, Georgetown: Georgetown Little Theatre is set to deliver its latest show - a light comedy directed by Ken Smith.

The play will run Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 p.m., with a matinee on Sunday at 2 p.m.
