ICYMI: Halton Region wants resident feedback on Norval bypass plans

Survey available online until Feb. 28

This article first appeared on HaltonHillsToday Feb. 6.

Halton Region is seeking public input on its preliminary preferred design for the Norval bypass.

The proposed bypass will re-route traffic from Winston Churchill Boulevard to a new four-lane road west of Norval. It's intended to reduce truck traffic on Hwy. 7 through the village.

The Region has been studying several options for routes and intersections with existing roads since 2020. After public consultation, the Region has put forward a preferred option, based on traffic flow, ability to accommodate future traffic demands, environmental impacts and other factors.

That option will see a roundabout connect Winston Churchill Boulevard with a realigned 10 Sideroad. The roundabout will also connect with the new bypass, which will link up with Hwy. 7 at the bottom of the hill leading from Georgetown into Norval.

The Region will be accepting comments on the bypass until Feb. 28. Anyone wishing to provide feedback can take a survey on Halton Region’s website.
