It will be worth the drive to Acton on Sunday as the Leathertown Festival returns in person for the first time in three years.

Excitement is growing for the popular free event, which will take over downtown Acton from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Aug. 14.

The day’s festivities will include many of the traditions of years past, such as live music, a variety of foods to feast on, over 130 vendors, a car show and more.

“We’ve got tremendous community support from vendors, so we’re really happy with that,” said Acton BIA co-ordinator Alex Hilson. “It’s going to be a very exciting day.”

Three stages located throughout the downtown will feature all local bands, with a final lineup and schedule to be released shortly.

There’ll also be a couple things happening for those who want to arrive at the festival on two wheels.

The Halton Hill Bike It Committee is holding a Bike It To The Leathertown Festival event, which encourages local residents to cycle to the festival and includes free secure valet bike parking in the Acton GO station parking lot.

Meanwhile, Old Vintage Cranks is hosting a motorcycle meet up during the festival on Willow Street North, between Mill and River streets. For further details on the meet up, call 519-853-9269.
