Mary (Fennell) Allan died peacefully at St. Joseph’s Health Centre, Guelph on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at age 100. Mary was born in Elora on July 23, 1922, to parents Clarence and Elizabeth (Prine) Fennell. Mary came to Acton during World War II to work at the Bell Telephone office as manager. She married Grant Allan in 1946, and lived all her married life in Acton at 55 Lake Avenue. Mary is predeceased by Grant Allan her husband of 65 years. They have four children, Doug (Barb) Allan, Susan Sheehan, Janet (Laurence) DeWolfe, and Nancy (John) Griffiths. She adored her grandchildren Rebecca (Matt) and Leah (Walker deceased), Kelly (Ky) and Karen (Fred), Maggie (Brian), Jack and Emily, Ryan (Lisa) and Samantha (Dave). Mary's eyes lit up at the mention of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren McKenna, Lilly-Anne, Piper, Stella, Ava, Lexi, Chase, Ty, Emma, and Olivia.

Staff at St. Joseph's Health Centre in Guelph and her children are among those who never ceased to be amazed by how she lived each day being gracious, kind, contented, grateful, generous, light hearted and able to laugh at her own expense. Her smile lit up the room and our hearts. We who are left behind are so thankful for wonderful memories. We want to thank staff at Eden House and St. Joseph’s Health Centre, Guelph. You took such good care of Mom every minute and made her feel at home. We will be forever grateful.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, April 15 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for a time of fellowship and refreshment at MacKinnon Family Funeral Home, 55 Mill St. East, Acton, ON.

A private family interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery.

We ask that anyone wishing to make a donation, make it to a cause close to your heart.
