Burke, Michael "Mike" – It is with great sadness that we announce the recent passing of Mike on December 27th, 2023 at the age of 89 years. Mike was the beloved husband of Joyce for 67 years. He was a kind, devoted and loving Dad of Sue, Father-In-Law of Ron and Grandpa of Michael Burke. Born in Grand-Falls, Newfoundland, he moved to Ontario to join the Canadian Air Force at the age of 18. It was here that he met Joyce Haugh, the love of his life.
At the age of 22 he left the military to join Air Canada and thus started Mike and Joyce’s travel adventures that spanned almost seven decades. He’ll be forever loved and remembered for his kind, giving nature and of course, his Newfie sense of humour. A Celebration of Mike’s life will be held on April 6th with details below where friends and family can join together to celebrate a life well lived. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
