John "Jeep" Dzupina was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and greatgrandfather during his incredible 92 years of life. He passed away peacefully March 8, 2024 with his wife Jean by his side.

John's humour, infectious smile gentle and caring demeanour will be remembered and greatly missed by his wife Jean "ST" and his children; Linda "Lin"(Chris Borg), Julie "Jewel" Rathwell, Debbie "Deb"(Mike Currie),Rick (Anne), John (Karen). John leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will continue to inspire his grandchildren Owen "O", Lucas "Luke", Avery "Ave", Tyler (Ashley), Kyle (Brittany), David, Julia (Tyler Corvers), Melissa (Tyler Moulder) and great grandchildren Isla, James and Lilah.

John was born and raised in New Toronto by his parents John and Julia along with his older brother Mike who immigrated from Bratislava, Czechoslovakia.

John was passionate about sports and played football, baseball and hockey while attending Mimico High School. He also played Oldtimers hockey for many years. He graduated with a degree in accounting and worked as a Chartered Accountant at Moore Corporation for 32 years .....and this is where he met Jean in April 1971 and their first date was New Years Eve 1971 and Married June 1975.

Jeep still had contact with many school and sports friends from New Toronto who met for Guys' Weekend every September from 1999 to 2016 and they called it The Muskoka Conference. Sadly with diminishing numbers the last few years the conference was a luncheon at a Golf Club in Mississauga and included all the wives (they probably just needed drivers)

John was a gentle soul who loved his family, he loved life and he lived it well. Until his late 80's he was still riding the "big 3" at Canada's Wonderland, hooting and cheering the whole ride! For his 90th birthday, his cake was hollowed out and filled with candy. Dessert was never refused and mini chocolate bars for Grandpa were always shared out of the halloween candy bags.

The night before his 91st birthday he attended Kyle and Brittany's wedding and he refused to leave the dance floor. He was enjoying all his girls!! As much as we would ask to make sure he was feeling ok, he refused to stop dancing. After an hour his response was "No! Do I look like I'm ready to sit down?"

John loved everything sports. Playing sports, watching sports, most any sport but especially his daughter Linda and Granddaughter Avery synchronized skating. In some of his last conversations with us we were remembering some of the places he's travelled to watch Linda skate including Paris, Milan, Rouan, Bourdeaux and "of course we can't forget Mississauga!" he said.

John enjoyed travelling. He took many beach vacations, he loved the ocean and snorkelling with Linda right beside him. The Rose Bowl to watch Jean's great nephew in Burlington Teen Tour Band, just like his mother did! Many trips to Florida, Vegas, Caribbean, Cozumel, Hawaii including honeymoon! Bus trip around Europe, drove a motorhome to Vancouver for Expo!

John loved animals almost as much as they loved him. He would frequently have long whistling conversations with Cardinals and could calm baby bunnies who were carried home by the cat.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

The family requests that donations be made to the Humane Society or to the Georgetown Hospital Foundation in John’s memory.
