James “Jim” Hamilton, a devoted husband, loving father, and doting grandfather, peacefully departed from this world on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at the Hospice Wellington, Guelph, surrounded by his cherished family.

Jim was born in Parry Sound to the late John and Annabel Hamilton. He leaves behind a family who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts. He is survived by his beloved wife, Clara MacDonald, his children, Tara Jakic (John) and Curtis Hamilton (Heather) and his cherished grandchildren, Lily, Leah, Devin, and Jaidyn.

Jim was a man of the wild, an avid outdoorsman who found solace in the embrace of nature. His family and friends often joined him on memorable fishing and hunting trips. His unwavering passion for the outdoors instilled a deep appreciation for nature in all those who were fortunate enough to share in his adventures.

In addition to his love for the outdoors, Jim had a sharp intellect and enjoyed the challenge of solving crossword puzzles. He was a formidable opponent in games of cribbage, always displaying a competitive spirit that kept everyone on their toes.

Jim Hamilton's legacy of love, laughter, and appreciation for the great outdoors will continue to inspire and bring comfort to all who were fortunate to know him. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered. As per his wishes, a private family service will be held.

Those wishing to honour Jim’s memory are invited to donate to the Hospice Wellington in his memory.
