March 22, 1926 - April 11 , 2024

Our most beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend has passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus.

Lydia was a dedicated Christian who lived a life characterized by her faith, her love of family and friends, quick laugh, generosity and open hospitality.

Lydia loved to learn and to teach. Lydia started her teaching career teaching grades 1-8 in a one room school close to her home in northern Manitoba. It was during this time she met Art Kublick (deceased 2020) who she married in 1949. When their first daughter was a year old they relocated to Toronto and later to Rexdale where Lydia opened a music studio in her home and taught piano for many years prior to teaching secretarial and business studies at Humber College until her retirement. Lydia also enjoyed serving as the pianist at Thistletown Baptist Church in Rexdale for nearly 40 years.

When not playing piano she enjoyed filling her days with reading, gardening, baking, and crocheting - the fruits of which she loved to share with family and friends. Most recently she enjoyed a rousing game of Triominos with friends at Edgewater Senior Living in Georgetown.

Lydia was known for her high energy and positive outlook on life. She loved to connect with people, made friends easily and was a great conversationalist. Her favourite topics included current events, the Blue Jays, her family and, of course, her faith.

Over her life she taught us to love unconditionally, to offer hospitality, to be generous and most importantly, to love and serve her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. This is her enduring legacy to her family and to those she touched during her 98 years.

Lydia leaves to mourn, her daughters Cheryl Cardon (Norman) and Karen Lutz and her son Darrell (Louise). She also leaves behind her grandchildren Nathan Cardon (Laura), Aaron Cardon (Jennifer), April Thompson (Jon), Kevin Lutz (Yvonne), Laura Lutz, Brittany and Braeden Kublick and her great grandchildren Henry, Everett and Makenzie Cardon, Johnny and Nicholas Schira and Eden Lutz.

All of Lydia’s remaining siblings, nieces and nephews also mourn her passing. She was well-loved by all.

Mom, Nana, Great Nana, Gigi, Lydia you have arrived home. Rest in the arms of Jesus.

Love your family.

God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life. 1 John 5:11-12
