It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Marvin William McRonald on Sunday April 2, 2023 - one day before his 78th birthday, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Marvin was a devoted husband to Audrey, his loving wife, friend, bridge partner, and a loving father to his four children Ryan, David, Sharon, Paul and their spouses Renata, Kirsten, Brent, and Claire. He will be missed by his seven grandchildren, Darrin, Abby, Anna, Evan Jack, Cian, and Caleigh. He was known for his kind heart, generous spirit, and unwavering dedication to his family.

He was predeceased by his parents William and Marjorie McRonald and his sister, Jean Stock.

Born in 1945 in Durham, Ontario, Marv grew up in Hanover, Ontario. He completed his Bachelor of Applied Science (BASC) at University of Waterloo and earned his Professional Engineering (PEng) designation before completing his Master of Business Administration (MBA) at McMaster University.

Marv spent the majority of his career in roles of increasing seniority at Ford Motor Company in Oakville, Ontario and Nortel Networks in Brampton, Ontario. He was a hard worker and instilled that same work ethic in his children and grandchildren.

In his free time, Marv loved to play table games such as Bridge, Euchre, Ticket to Ride and Mexican Train, either in person or virtually. He was an avid photographer who could always be counted on to capture special moments at family gatherings. Marv played trombone in the Acton Citizen Band for over 30 years and passed on his love for music to all 4 of his children. He was always up for an adventure, traveling to new places around the world. Marv loved researching his family tree and could often be found in the library, on Ancestry.com, or traipsing through a graveyard in search of details on his ancestors.

Marv will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. Those closest to Marv will miss his poems, stories, and often-rhyming annual Christmas greetings. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to his family and his faith, that will be remembered for generations to come.
