Peacefully, with her family by her side, after an incredibly courageous battle with cancer, on Sunday March 17, 2024 at the Juravinski Hospital, Hamilton.
Sylvia, in her 65th year, beloved wife of Andy Murphy for 44 years. Loving and devoted mom of Nick (Melissa) and Anthony (Brittany). Cherished and adoring Oma of Owen, Paisley, Cameron and Lincoln.
Sylvia was predeceased by her parents Sigrid and Karl Heinz Heissler. Dear sister of Peter Heissler. Treasured sister-in-law of Alice English (Bill Durdle) and Paul (Roslyn) Murphy. Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews, friends and neighbours.
Sylvia was larger than life. She loved with all of her heart. She was caring, genuine and adventurous. She made everyone feel like someone special in her presence.
Sylvia will be forever remembered and loved for the tremendous love she had for her family and friends.
Friends will be received at the Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown (905) 877-3631 on Thursday March 21, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
A funeral service to honour and celebrate Sylvia’s life will be held in the chapel on Friday March 22, 2024 at 11 a.m. Reception to follow in the Trafalgar Room.
Cremation has taken place.
