Peacefully, on Monday December 11, 2023 at Amica, Georgetown. Phyllis in her 101st year, loving wife of the late Norman Newns (2006). Loving mother of Steven (Linda) and the late Brent, late George, late Kevin and loved mother-in-law of Jane. Loving grandma of Steven (Carlene), Terry, Jeremy, Brent, Chris, Drew, Jarod and loved by 2 great grandchildren. Predeceased by her sisters Lois, Ruth and Ruby. Loving Aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Phyllis was a dedicated member of the Union Presbyterian Church, enjoyed many outings, activities at the Hillsview Active Living Centre and had been a Lunch Monitor at Alloa Public School for over 30 years. Phyllis will be forever remembered by her family for her love of playing euchre, knitting, crocheting and for the love that she had for her family and friends.
Friends will be received at the Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown (905) 877-3631 on Monday December 18, 2023 from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service in the chapel at 11 a.m. Reception to follow in the Trafalgar Room. Interment Hillcrest Cemetery, Norval. Memorial contributions to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
