It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David Viveiros, on March 8th, 2024, at the age of 44, after a courageous battle with cancer. He left behind a legacy of love, laughter, and faith that touched the lives of all who knew him.

Born on July 27, 1979 in Winnipeg Manitoba, David was the loving son of David Dos Reis Viveiros and Maria Alice Viveiros. At the age of 10, he moved to Sao Miguel, where he developed a deep love for his family, his church community, and the beautiful landscapes of his island home.

David was the beloved husband of Telma Viveiros, with whom he shared many joyous years of marriage. Together, they raised their daughter Sofia Viveiros with boundless love and devotion. David's family was the center of his world, and his love for them knew no bounds. In addition to his wife and daughter, David is survived by his sister Anita Viveiros Botelho and her spouse Roberto Botelho. He will also be deeply missed by his nieces and nephews in Canada and Portugal, as well as his extended family in Portugal.

David was a vibrant member of the Evangelical Church Community, where his faith and compassion touched the lives of many. He found solace and strength in his spiritual beliefs, and inspired those around him with his presence. He was an avid motorcyclist who cherished riding on the open road on Sao Miguel’s scenic routes. David's love for music, especially playing the ukulele while his wife Telma sang, showcased his joyful spirit. Despite battling cancer, he faced each day with grace, courage, and unwavering faith, inspiring everyone with his strength and resilience.

In honouring David’s memory, let us celebrate the life he lived, the love he shared, and the joy he brought to those around him. Though he may be physically gone, his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were touched by his kindness and generosity. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the eternal love of his heavenly Father.

Friends and family will be received at the Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown L7G 4Y5 (905) 877-3631 on March 14th from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.  Funeral service will be held in the Chapel on March 15th at 11:00 AM.
