Milton resident among three charged after traffic stop turns up weapon, drugs

Three people, including a Milton resident, are facing a variety of weapon and drug-related charges following a traffic stop by Ontario Provincial Police near Parry Sound.

On Feb. 27, officers stopped the vehicle for a sobriety check on Highway 69 in Archipelago Township and say they observed cannabis readily available.

"A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in officers locating a firearm, high-capacity magazine, and suspected cocaine and fentanyl with an estimated street value of over $22,000," police said in a press release.

A 16-year-old from Scarborough was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - opioid
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine
  • Possession property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Obstruct peace officer
  • Occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
  • Occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was prohibited device or ammunition
  • Transport firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition in a careless manner
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition at unauthorized place
  • Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted weapon obtained by crime
  • Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Possession of prohibited device or ammunition for dangerous purpose
  • Passenger fail to wear seat belt properly.

The accused was held for bail and remanded into custody.

Jada George, 22, from Milton, was arrested and charged with:

  • Occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was prohibited or restricted weapon
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - opioid
  • Possession of prohibited device or ammunition for a dangerous purpose
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
  • Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm
  • Transport firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition in a careless manner
  • Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition at unauthorized place
  • Possession of schedule I substance - opioid
  • Possession of a firearm prohibited or restricted weapon obtained by crime
  • Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available.

Dallas White, 27, Vaughan was arrested and charged with:

  • Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was prohibited or restricted weapon
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Possession of schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine
  • Possession of schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - opioid
  • Possession of prohibited device or ammunition for dangerous purpose
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm
  • Transport firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition in a careless manner
  • Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition at unauthorized place
  • Possession of a firearm, prohibited or restricted weapon obtained by crime
  • Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammo.

The trio is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on March 21.

All people charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
