Are you ready for the Oscars?

No, not THOSE Oscars! Diabetes Canada’s Second Annual Kiwanis Club of Georgetown's All In To End Diabetes: A Night at the Oscars!

On November 17 at 7 p.m., put on your semi-formal Oscars attire and head over to Georgetown Toyota for this gala event. Georgetown Toyota will be transformed like you have never seen it before, with a red carpet, casino games, music, live entertainment, and live Oscar presentations.

“We are excited for this year’s All In To End Diabetes event,” said Community Fundraising & Events Coordinator for Diabetes Canada, Olivia Grossi. “It is a labour of love to alter the venue, but it is worth it. This will be a very special and fun evening.”

Grossi added that there will be a magician, dancers, a violinist, and a caricature artist to entertain and amuse guests. “You can also try your luck at the casino games, there will be blackjack, roulette, poker and of course it will be a catered event with creative and delicious F&B options.” she mentioned.

To go with the Oscar theme, community members are encouraged to nominate a child living with diabetes in their community, for a special Diabetes Canada Oscar. “We will also be giving out an Outstanding Medical Professional Award Oscar, to a doctor who has gone above and beyond to support people living with diabetes,” said Grossi.

“There will be a raffle, silent and live auction as well. Tickets for the event are $100 and our goal is to raise $100,000, which will send 40 local children living with diabetes to Diabetes Canada’s D-Camps – summer camps designed to provide kids living with Type 1 diabetes the opportunity to enjoy an authentic camp experience in a medically accommodating environment,” Grossi explained. “We would love to see everyone in the community come out to the Oscars and help these children out too!”

Christian Febel from Georgetown Toyota said, “Diabetes is in every community; we are very much a part of the Georgetown community. With last year’s success I have truly never seen an event assist in sending more children living with Type 1 diabetes to camp and I am excited to see how many more children we can send this year!”

HURRY! Last year, we sold out quicker than expected!
