Heads up, hockey fans! It’s time to watch your local heroes sharpen their blades and hit the ice at the Mold-Masters Sportsplex in Georgetown.

The Halton Hills Firefighters are set to face off against the Pro Hockey Heroes – a lineup of former NHL hockey legends in a charity hockey game on March 17.

Funds raised by ticket sales will support the work of volunteers at the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS).

The annual event promises to deliver a blend of skill, fun and excitement, all for a great community cause.

Although the event is strictly for fun – and to support those working to fund cancer research across the country – its impact extends far beyond the ice rink, and serves as a reminder of the strength and determination found within communities when they unite for a common cause.

The charity hockey game is scheduled for Sunday, March 17 at 1:30 p.m., with doors opening at 12:45 p.m., at the Mold-Masters Sportsplex On Guelph St.

Families – and hockey fans! – are encouraged to attend what is sure to be an unforgettable afternoon of fun on the ice.

By purchasing a ticket to the event, attendees will contribute to the Canadian Cancer Society's mission of eradicating cancer and improving the quality of life for those affected by the disease.

The CCS, a national community-based organization fuelled by dedicated volunteers, strives to create a future where no Canadian fears cancer.

Since 2017, the CCS has helped more than 55 million people by providing credible information and support related to cancer. And since the 1940s, they have invested more than $2 billion in cancer research.

The matchup between the former NHL stars and the Halton Hills Firefighters promises a blend of competitive spirit and heartwarming solidarity, showcasing the power of sport in bringing communities together for a common cause.
