Monday April 22, 2024, marks the 54th year of Earth Day. To recognize this important date, the Town will host its annual Earth Week celebrations! Join us for environmental activities to reduce carbon emissions, support a healthy environment and biodiversity, and build a resilient community.

Earth Week is Friday, April 19 to Saturday April 27, 2024. Planning of events is underway. A few of the events include:

22-Minute Makeover

On Monday, April 22, schools and businesses are encouraged to head outside to clean up where you spend your day. Register by emailing Clean up the Town, to arrange for free bags and gloves.

Used Bike Swap

Join us for the annual Used Bike Swap, hosted by the Halton Hills Bike It Working Group. Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Robert C. Austin Operations Centre, 11620 Trafalgar Rd., Georgetown. Learn how to donate your used bike or purchase one at haltonhills.ca/EarthWeek.

Community Clean up

On Saturday April 20, help clean-up the community! Organizations, groups, families, and individuals are invited to form a cleanup group or join a group to pick up trash along trails, parks, ravine and anywhere else that needs cleaning. We will even pick up the trash bags when you are finished! Participants are asked to register so that we do not duplicate or clean-up efforts. Register by emailing Clean up the Town, to arrange pick-up of free bags and gloves, and let us know if you would like to lead a cleanup crew!
