An Erin woman has won big on a lottery scratch ticket.

Deanna Mackay recently took home a $100,000 top prize with Instant Crossword Tripler.

The 84-year-old said a friend took her ticket to the store to check it on her behalf.

“He came back and told me, ‘You have to go there yourself.’ That’s when I discovered I’d won $100,000!”

The longtime lottery player said she especially enjoys playing Crossword and Bingo, and occasionally purchases Lotto 6/49.

“I like to scratch my tickets in the evening before bed,” she shared, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her windfall.

The retired bookkeeper hasn’t made any major plans for her winnings just yet.

“I’ll take some time to consider how to best enjoy this win,” she said. “It’s really going to help. It feels great, but it still hasn’t sunk in fully!”

The winning ticket was purchased at Erin Express Variety & Video on Main Street in Erin.
