Costumed characters by the hundreds took over downtown Acton yesterday (Oct. 28) as the spooky season gets underway locally.
Trick or Treat on Mill and Main Streets saw a potentially record-breaking crowd as the similar event usually held in Georgetown was cancelled this year.
Several stores reported giving out at least 1,000 or more pieces of candy to eager youngsters.
