The 2024 OJHL All-Star Celebration break has concluded and your Raiders are ready to get back on the ice. Let’s get dialed in for our Wed., January 17 match up with the Toronto Patriots.

Heading into the game, the Patriots are the winners of the first two meetings of the clubs this season, with the latest being a 7-5 win in Toronto on Dec. 23.

Toronto owns a 17-16-2-0 record on the season, while Georgetown sits at 19-15-4-0 on the year. Both clubs are in minor slumps in their last few games, with Toronto at 2-6-1-0, Georgetown at 3-6-1-0. The Raiders post an impressive 12-5-2-0 record at home while Toronto is 8-9-2-0 on the road this year.

Georgetown claims fifth in the west with 42 points, Toronto claims eighth in the same conference at 38 points. This is a massive chance for Georgetown to keep climbing higher in the standings and push opponents on their heels down the ladder a little further. It's shaping up to be a tight finish, with six teams inside of 14 points of each other from third through eighth place in the conference.

The Patriots' leading scorer is Dylan Edwards, who has 11-24–35 this season. Georgetown’s Quinn Tavares is the leading scorer for the club with 19 goals and 28 assists this season.

One area to note for the Patriots is their penalty kill on the road this season, which sits at 76 per cent. Matching this up against Georgetown’s nearly 60 per cent successful power play at home should produce entertaining hockey. Georgetown needs to use their scoring-in-bunches mindset to push Toronto down early and build a lead.

The Raiders are looking to get off on the right foot to start the push for the post season and we need you at Alcott Arena, Raider Nation! Tickets are $15 at the door. Doors open at 7 p.m., with alcohol sales beginning at the same time. Puck drop is at 7:30 p.m.
