11 OCTOBER, 1951 – 10 JULY, 2023

It is with heavy heart we announce the passing of Ray Ballantine, on July 10th, 2023. Ray passed peacefully with his loving wife by his side. He courageously fought an 11-month battle with lung cancer. We mourn the loss of a remarkable man whose presence brought joy and inspiration to all who knew him.

Born on October 11, 1951, in Toronto Ontario, Ray was a man of true integrity. He faced life's challenges with joy and laughter, never faltering in the pursuit of his goals. He was a hardworking individual who was dedicated to ensuring the well-being of his loved ones.

Ray’s love for his family was unwavering. Loving husband to Sarah and a devoted father, to Aaron (Kristin), Andrea (Geoff) and Clarke (Alexis). Supportive stepfather to John and Tom (Kerri). His constant pride, support and guidance was evident throughout all their endeavours. Ray offered his unlimited love every step of the way.

Ray’s legacy lives on through his adored grandchildren: Carson, Kayleigh, James, Luke, and a special baby girl coming in December. His love for each of them knew no bounds, and their presence brought immeasurable joy to his life.

Ray will be missed by his loving sisters, Sherri (Mimi Gail) and Pat, who held a special place in his heart along with all of his nieces and nephews and their children. While we grieve his passing, we celebrate the memories he created, whether it be traveling, playing gin, driving his tractor, or building a fire pit.

Ray made many friends over the years. His close friend and business partner, Bob (Bobby) Krywiak were known as “brothers from another mother”. Ray loved his work in Commercial Claims adjusting, and with Bobby by his side the future changes and mergers were far more enjoyable.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Blair Cappel for his special care and support over the last year.

A visitation will be held at Mackinnon’s Family Funeral Home at 55 Mill Street East, Acton Ontario on Sunday July 16, 2023, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.

On Monday July 17, 2023, the Family will be hosting a “Toast To Ray” event at The Red Harp Pub at 137 Mill Street East, Acton Ontario from1:00 to 4:00 p.m.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (Lung Cancer).

May we find solace in the memories we have of Ray and take comfort in knowing that he made a lasting impact on the lives of those around him. May his soul rest in eternal peace. “ simba non tumba – pacey, pacey!!”
