The family of Sydney Barens is deeply saddened to announce his passing on May 17, 2023 at the age of 69.
Syd will be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend of 43 years, Nicki. Treasured father to his children, Greg (Amber) and Amelia (Jim). He was the proud Pa to his grandchildren, Evangeline, Kimberly, Frank and Aiden.
Syd is survived by his siblings, Fred (Rose), Harry (Roberta), Gary (Michelle), Frances (Scott) and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Henk and Wijke; brother, Henry.
Syd had a great love for the outdoors and was often found exploring the bush, spending time at his log cabin and enjoying a campfire.
Good-bye is not forever. Good-bye is not the end. It simply means we'll miss you until we meet again.
A memorial service will be held in celebration of Syd's life on Friday, May 26, 2023 at 1:00pm., at The Royal Canadian Legion, 15 Wright Ave, Acton, Ontario, with reception to follow from 1:30pm to 4:00pm.
