Born June 22, 1948 to Lodie and Helen Crocker (deceased) in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia. Affectionately known as “Donnie” by loving sisters Gwendolyn Elizabeth Malacarne (Ray) (deceased) and Beverley Noreen Jokubpreiksas (Ludy). As an accomplished athlete, Don played for the Mimico Marauders City Championship basketball team and went on to play football at St. Francis Xavier before transferring to the University of Toronto where he graduated from the Faculty of Education in 1971.

Don met and married loving wife Sandra Calsavara in 1972 while he was the star goaltender for the Windsor Warlocks National Lacrosse team. Proud father of daughters Jennifer (deceased) (Steve) Howse and Elizabeth (Mark) Will and Lynne (Ryan) Crocker and adoring “Grandpa Don” to Sara and Cassandra Howse and Charlotte Will. The kids will all cherish him for his wisdom, kind spirit, his exceptional culinary skills and passion for music, film and poetry. As a teacher, coach and guidance counselor, Don made a lasting impression on students from Applewood Heights, Streetsville and Meadowvale Secondary School.

Ever the philosopher, he loved gathering to debate and solve the world's problems with the boys of “Big Grey”. Don was happiest surrounded by friends and family over a good meal, perfecting his golf swing and walking hand in hand with Sandy on Lido Beach in Florida.
