Daniel Ronald Edwards, age 86 of Frankford, ON, formerly a longtime resident of Georgetown, ON and Glen Williams, ON, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2023 after a short and aggressive battle with a rare esophageal cancer that metastasized rapidly.
Born Oct 5, 1937, as the only child to Florence (nee Lee) born in Acton, ON and Ronald Edwards of St. David's, Wales.
Daniel was very active in every community he belonged to and believed in always giving back. He supported a number of causes; Optimist Club (favourite event - Bang-o-Rama), The Royal Canadian Legion, Glen Williams Canada Day, Frankford Santa Claus Parade just to name a few. He never shied away from lending a hand.
Daniel was forever the entrepreneur. He had the drive and determination to always find the next adventure. Daniel is most remembered for The Arcade, the Georgetown Cinemas, bus tours and Edwards Music. His 9-5 career was with Halton Hills Hydro from 1958-1994. In addition, many people may have also crossed paths with Daniel at Eric's Dominium Hardware on any given Saturday.
Daniel will be deeply missed by his dearest friend and sidekick, Marion Carney, childhood friend and life partner for the past 20 years. His legacy will live on through his children; Anna Edwards (Rick), Mark Edwards (Claudia), Linda Ringuette (Cliff), Laura Dockeray-Perry , Christina Edwards-Scott, Danielle Terry (Paul), Kyle Edwards (Julie), Tanya Dillon (Martin), Jody Hudson (Andy), in addition to 26 Grandchildren: Justin (Vania), Drew (Kaitlin), Eric (Alandra), Jessica, Jacob, Juliana, Heather (Jeremy), Karen (Donavan), Katie (Liam), Molly (Luc), Joseph, Alex, Jackie (Jesse), Matthew (Tara), Sarah (Ben), Morgan, Quintin (Hannah), Nicholas (Madeline), Elgin, PJ, Paige, Matthew, Cailey, Connor and Declan (predeceased by Ethen Edwards, standing at the gate to welcome Grandpa since April 4, 2023) and 9 Great Grandchildren: Jacob, Paxton, Carter, Grace, Victoria, Wren, Elayna, Arlo and Charlie . Further enriched by the inclusion of many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren of the blended families. Creating a small village with the motto of being each other's best friends. Mother of his children, Rosamund Edwards.

As per Daniel's wishes, there will be no visitation. There will be a public funeral service on Saturday December 30, 2023 at St George's Anglican Church in Georgetown located at 60 Guelph Street and all are welcome. Interment to follow directly after at Greenwood Cemetery located at 100 King St., Georgetown. Also, please join us for a time to reflect, remember and chat at the St George's Anglican Hall following the interment.
