John Thomas Ellis (Tom) passed into the presence of his Lord and his Saviour on December 31, 2023.
Tom was the only child of Jack and Isabel Ellis. He was 65 years old, born in Toronto, Ontario on January 20, 1958. He enjoyed cottaging up north with his family on Hamer Bay, (Lake Joseph). He also had a real interest in discussing history, politics, and automobiles. He loved music, especially hymns and was always happy when playing the piano. His greatest love and passion was to talk about his Saviour, Jesus Christ. When he was young, he acknowledged that “All have sinned," (Romans 3:23) and accepted the finished work of the Lord Jesus on Calvary's Cross. He put his trust in Him for his eternal salvation.
After high school, Tom attended Sheridan College and received a degree in business accounting. He worked at various businesses as an accountant and in later years cared for first his dad, and then his mom in their declining years.
Tom was loved and cared for by a close Christian faith community. He is now "absent from the body and present with the Lord." (2 Corinthians 5:8)
Friends and family will be received at a service to honour Tom , at the MacKinnon Family Funeral Home, 55 Mill Street, East, Acton, Ontario on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at 12:30 p.m., followed by a time of fellowship and reflection.
Private interment at Coningsby Cemetery, Hillsburgh, Ontario in the spring.
