Audrey Gertrude Gummer (nee Wood) passed away peacefully at Wesburn Manor in Toronto, on Friday, January 19, 2024 at the age of 101. Predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Bruce Norman (2007). Loving mother of the late Beverly Law (2013) (Ken) Law of Georgetown, Patricia (Neil) Lawton Anderson of Duncan, BC, and Lois (Brian) Dow of Mississauga. Proud “Grammie” of the late Patrick Law (2022), Spencer (Ashley) Law, Brett Lawton and great granddaughter Carly Law. Audrey will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Melville, Bernice (Harold) Paget, James (June) Wood, Billy (Olive) Wood, Ken (Joan) Wood and Joan (Armand) Martin. Audrey was born in Toronto, to parents John Joseph Wood and Edith Agnes Kitchen. She was raised in Shelburne and later moved with Bruce to Georgetown where they raised their family.

Family came first with Audrey, always loving and caring for her husband, daughters and grandsons, lending a helping hand when requested. She kept active with swimming, skating and walking. As an avid sports fan the Leafs came first with the Jays and Olympics as must watch events.

The family wishes to thank the Wesburn Manor staff, nurses, doctors and the PSWs from Home Instead for their care and compassion.

Friends will be received at the Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 from 11-12 p.m. With a memorial service in the chapel at 12 p.m. Followed by some light refreshments.

If desired, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or to a charity of your choice.
