On December 4, we bid farewell to Eileen as she embarked on her next journey. Eileen Joel, beloved mother of the late David, left a legacy of love and warmth that touched the lives of many. She is fondly remembered by her daughter-in-law, Aimee, and cherished as a proud grandmother by Elly. Eileen was more than a sister; she was a beacon of light to Mary Maan and Joan Lynch, and the late Rita Shanahan. Her presence extended beyond her immediate family, being an aunt who lovingly embraced Ashley, Marie, Fiona, Anthony, Emma, Claire, Patrick, James, Ashley and their families.
The staff at the Bennett Centre, who became her extended family, hold a special place in the hearts of those who knew Eileen. Their care and dedication provided solace and comfort during her journey.
Eileen's spirit was as generous as her heart was kind. Her love knew no bounds, leaving an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. She was recognized for her bright blue eyes that reflected the warmth of her soul. Her perpetual smile and contagious joy brightened the lives of those around her, and her melodic voice brought cheer wherever she went.
To honor her memory, a Memorial Mass will be held at Holy Cross, 11400 Argyll Road, Georgetown, on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 offering a space for all those whose lives she graced to come together in remembrance and celebration of a remarkable woman. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Bennett Centre Building Fund are greatly appreciated in Eileen’s name.
