December 22, 1946-June 25, 2022

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Drew Kelly.  With his devoted wife Mary, faithfully by his side, and surrounded by his family in the home he loved, Drew passed away peacefully on June 25, 2022.

Drew was predeceased by his parents Jim and Amy Kelly.

He will be forever cherished by his wife and best friend, Mary; son Lee (Shawndra), daughter Allison (Shawn); grandchildren Davin, Garrett, Lara, Josephine and Emsley; his sisters Lorraine (Lawrence) and Suzanne; and his many nieces and nephews.  He will be fondly remembered by numerous friends and colleagues.

Drew was born in Scotland and made the journey to Canada in 1952 at age 5.  He grew up in Cooksville, ON before settling in Georgetown, ON with Mary in 1972 to raise their family.

As a skilled negotiator, Drew built a successful career in the metals and mining industry, gaining life-long friends and colleagues along the way.  His greatest professional accomplishment was owning and operating MetalChem Canada Incorporated with son Lee working alongside for 17 years.

With a passion for golf, Drew was a long-standing member of The Club at North Halton.  He spent many hours on the course, both at home, in Florida and on frequent destination golf trips.  Drew was a co-founder, organizer and host of the J.O.F (Just Old Friends) annual golf tournament, running over 25 years.  He was also a lover of fishing and boating and created, with Mary, a beautiful cottage on Kashwakamak Lake, where he enjoyed making memories with family and friends.  Drew was best known for his culinary and bbq expertise, and for being the ultimate host of countless events, gatherings, parties and late-night meals.
As per his wishes, a private family funeral has taken place.

Drew was a long-time supporter of Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto, ON.  In memory of Drew, contributions can be made in lieu of flowers to Sick Kids Hospital.  To send messages of condolence, please visit www.jonesfuneralhome.co
