It is with profound sadness that the family of Mariellen “Sam” Penrose announce her passing on Monday, November 27, 2023.
Sam was predeceased by her husband John. Loving mother to Deborah (Dawn) and John (Jocelyn) and adored grandmother to Tristan, Ainslie, Elleigh and Jackson. She will also be missed by her siblings and many nieces and nephews.
Sam was a friend to many and could always be counted on with a phone call to catch up or with a funny story to tell. She had a great sense of humour and a zest for life which brought her around the world on over twenty cruises and numerous vacations with friends and family.
In her retirement, Sam was a volunteer with the Ladies Auxiliary at the Royal Canadian Legion.
Family and friends are invited to join us at a memorial visitation on Thursday November 30, 2023 between 2pm and 5pm at the McKinnon Family Funeral Home, 55 Mill St E Acton.
A private family burial will occur the following day in Niagara-on-the Lake, a place near and dear to her heart.
The family is requesting that any donations in her honour be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Acton Foodshare.
