Peacefully, on Thursday December 7, 2023 at his home in Georgetown. Ed, in his 83rd year, beloved husband of Pat for over 60 years.
Loving father of Kevin (Sarah), Connie (Jeff), Annie (Ron), Amy (Joe) and Eddie (Lynne). Loved grandpa of Paige (Dylan), Savannah (Pete), Larissa, Benny, Kaitlin, Helena, Gracie, Joey, John, Michael, Maya and Bryce. Dear brother of David (Linda), Jeanne (the late Rich), John (Cindy), Joe (Mary) and the late Gerald. Ed will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Ed was a sports enthusiast, a dedicated Bills, Raptors, and Leafs fan. He loved to golf and over his lifetime played courses across Canada, the USA, Scotland, and Ireland. Ed was a very successful businessman whose businesses employed hundreds of people. But he was incredibly humble and generous to the end. He had a wide, wide circle of friends to whom he was steadfastly loyal and kind. Ed loved to socialize and seemed happiest when barbecuing a steak and watching the game with friends and family. He will be forever remembered by all who loved him.
Friends will be received at the Jones Funeral home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown (905) 877-3631 on Monday December 11 from 6-8 p.m and Tuesday December 12 from 10-11am. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday December 12, 2023 at 11 a.m. Reception to follow in the Trafalgar Room. Memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
