Albert “Al” Romano, 76, of Georgetown, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday October 9th, 2023. He was in the company of his devoted wife, Debbie, and cherished daughter, Michelle. A beacon of love, warmth, and dedication throughout his life, Al’s memory will forever remain etched in the hearts of those who knew him.

Al shared 46 remarkable years of marriage with Debbie, a bond that stands as a testament to enduring love and commitment. He was a loving father to Michelle and a proud grandfather to Emily, who brought immeasurable joy to his life. Al was the beloved brother to Gina (the late Emilio), Franca (Marcel), and Orlando (the late Rosina). With them, he shared countless memories of love and camaraderie.

Al's passion for music was undeniable, and he expressed it beautifully through his skills with the saxophone and harmonica. Many fondly recall his days playing in a band, where his musical talent not only shone brightly but also brought joy to all those fortunate enough to hear him play.

Known for his dedication and hard work, Al was always ready to lend a helping hand. Colleagues and friends frequently spoke of his unwavering integrity and the reliability he brought to every task.

Outside of music, Al revelled in life's simpler pleasures. He was an avid watcher of TV shows and movies, and evenings around the bonfire in his backyard were a cherished tradition.

Al's spirit, passion, and love will forever live on, remembered and cherished by family members, including nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who were touched by his enduring warmth and kindness.

A Mass will be held in his honour at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 14400 Argyll Road, Georgetown on Monday, October 16, 2023, at 10:30 am. A reception will follow the Mass, where family and friends can gather to share memories and comfort one another. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in Al's memory.
