Halton Police believe an attempted break-in in Georgetown and break-in at a Hornby gas station are related.

Halton Police are investigating two early-morning break-ins.

On Thursday, Feb. 8 at approximately 2:10 a.m., police say there was an attempted break-in at a Georgetown convenience store.

According to police, the front door of the store on Miller Drive was damaged, but the deadbolts and window cage prevented the suspect or suspects from getting into the store and nothing was stolen.

Approximately 30 minutes later, police say two suspects broke into an Esso gas station on Hornby Road in Hornby. It’s believed they entered through the front door.

The suspects attempted to break into the ATM, according to police. They were unsuccessful, but did damage the machine. Police say the suspects then stole cigarettes from behind the counter.

No arrests have been made and there are no descriptions of the suspects in either case. Police believe the two incidents are related.
