A lockdown at Christ the King Catholic Secondary School in Georgetown has been lifted, with few details available yet on what happened.

Halton Regional Police have confirmed that they responded to a call at the school on Guelph Street early this afternoon (Sept. 28), and the facility was placed in a temporary lockdown.

Initial reports from students on the scene indicated there may have been a stabbing, but an email issued by the school principal to parents says "this rumour is not true."

"Our school went into lockdown mode as a precautionary measure," the emails reads. "No students or staff were harmed, and all is well at Christ the King Catholic Secondary School."

Police said there are no reports of any physical injuries at the school.

They also told HaltonHillsToday it’s too early to confirm if anyone was arrested.

This is a developing story - more to come.
